Subject: Best Hot Dog in Town

Without a doubt, the Hot Dog all-the-way with Chili, Mustard, Onions, and Cole Slaw, is the best in town.

I have partaken of Barbeque King fare since a teenager and currently have lunch there about once per week.

I am only one year younger than your establishment.  I remember when the tornado came through in ’93, I believe,

and tore up everything.  It didn’t miss us by very much at all living only a few blocks away.

I’d like to present to you my idea for a new menu item.  A two-in-one hot dog.  Two dogs in a wider bun sliced twice.

Call it the “Double-Barrel BK” hot dog before the other B. King knows what happened.

And, the Po-Boy all-the-way with bacon is as good as it gets.  Happy 50th Anniversary!

I’m amazed to learn that Tom has been there for 37 years.  That’s almost as long as I’ve been aware of BBQK.

 Bar-B-Q King is fantastic! - Sheila J. - Jun 13, 2009

I love the fried trout plate, the barbecued chicken, and the chicken salad cold plate. They are very reasonably priced and always packed with customers. They even give the driver a free sweet tea. I recommend this place! ...

Appearances are not... - Queen B - May 14, 2009

Appearances are not everything. Had it not been recommended by the Food Network's Diners Drive-Ins and Dives show, I would have overlooked it. But the show is correct, it is worth stopping for. Nothing too spectacular, but good old ...

 Delicious - James Blevinths - May 22, 2009

Apparently this place was on a show that made it famous?  I get BBQ king when i'm headed to the airport or on Wilkinson for some other reason because it's really your only non Burger King option on that whole stretch of road. THe service is very prompt even though it's usually very crowded. I thought the BBQ was fantastic, piled high, super tender. Not enough sauce perhaps but still quite flavorful. Chicken was great. Onion rings were very unique - some of us don't like them cause they are so unorthodox - I think they are fantastic. Like the old school crushed ice. Smells so good when you go inside to order.

My friend and I come to Charlotte once a year from Cincinnati, Ohio.

We come down for the Nascar All-Star race and we make it a point to come
to the BBQ King Driv-in.

We LOVE IT!!!!!!  Great food, great prices and we love that we can just drive up
and get such fast service!!

We are certainly satisfied and way too full when we leave!

My wife and I have eaten at the Bar-BQ King since we were going together in 1959.
We've been married over 47 years and we, our kids, grandkids and great grandkids
still love the KING.

Still clinging fiercely to its 1950s roots, the Bar B Q King keeps delivering what it knows
how to do best-- barbeque, burgers and onion rings.

The trick is that you don't drive through the Bar B Q King, you drive in.

Back your ride into a prime spot in the front row, place your order via the speaker
by your window, crank up your stereo and relax.

Pretty soon a car hop-- who likely began delivering burgers here before you were born-- will serve up fried chicken, fish, sandwiches and shakes right to your window.
